EXPRESSIONSOF INTEREST
Bournemouth Borough Council, on behalf of
Bournemouth Drug & Alcohol Action Team and
commissioning partners, invites expressions of
interest from both individual organisation and
consortia for the provision of:
SPECIALIST PRESCRIBING
and/or
PRIMARY CARE
RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICE
Contracts will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 2
years subject to performance and funding. The anticipated start date for both services is 1st April
2013. The value of the Contract will be in the region of £2.3 million specialist prescribing and
£700,000 Primary Care Recovery Support over the life of the Contracts.
Suitably qualified, experienced and established organisations should be able to demonstrate the
knowledge, innovation, added value and ability to deliver recovery orientated services in the
community. The successful applicant(s) will also recognise the importance of the wider family
and community, focus on a recovery model and social re-integration of Service Users and be
required to work in partnership as part of a clearly defined treatment system with other
commissioned Providers.
Under the recovery agenda, the Department of Health have the desire to see that the number of
opiate users receiving substitute prescribing will reduce over the foreseeable future in a steady
downward trend. The challenge for providers is to achieve this whilst still supporting the harm
reduction agenda and meeting the needs of the Service User.
In order to obtain tender documentation, providers are required to register their interest by contacting
KarenWood on 01202 458740 or e-mail your request to: karen.wood@bournemouth.gov.uk quoting
