NewLink Wales
Training
– NewLink Wales is a voluntary sector organisation providing
substance misuse training. We deliver a NOS mapped training
programme and design and deliver bespoke courses for organisations.
As an approved centre with City & Guilds and the Institute of
Leadership and Management we deliver qualifications including the
Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care, NVQ Level 3, 5 and 7 in
Management and the Award/ Certificate inWorking with Substance
Misuse. We also provide the Award/ Certificate in Employability and
Personal Development, aimed at service users and assessor and
verifier qualifications.
Volunteering
– NewLink Wales recruits, trains and places volunteers
with registered agencies that work to support those affected by
substance misuse. We have a NewSteps service user programme
which works with clients still in treatment, through a buddy
system, and a MILE (Mentoring in Learning & Education)
programme for ex service users who wish to volunteer.
The Black &Minority Ethnic Communities Service
empowering
individuals, families and groups who are in some way affected by
substance misuse, through education and support, in a sensitive and
culturally appropriate manner. It also provides services to young people.

twenty-five years experience in the field of drug use. He is an
experienced freelance trainer, consultant, harm reductionist and
writer specialising in approaches that advocate for constructive
change and expansion of progressive and evidence-based
interventions that reduce drug-related harms, enhance health,
wellness and recovery and the maximizing of potential.
