StreetScene
StreetScene is a
registered charity, set up in 1989. Its purpose is to help people
suffering from addiction to recover. We believe that every addict
should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our
qualified, multi-disciplinary team, some with personal or family
experience of addiction and recovery, are involved in this work
because they care. We are here to offer hope, help, opportunities and
support to enable change to take place, providing safe and homely
environments coupled with knowledge, experience, respect and care
and the ability to treat each person as an individual.
We have:
Three separate locations, Allington House, Cornerways
and Francis House, all CQC registered; a completion rate of 85 per
cent (NTDMS).
We provide:
Services for men or women of any age from 18 up to 70;
tail-end detox; services for people with complex needs; our own re-
settlement programme; up to six months support in Unity House;
ongoing free aftercare for as long as a client wishes to attend
We work with:
Colleges, so clients can gain current qualifications for
employment; local landlords for long-term accommodation; local JCP
and other networks to help people find and secure employment.

Shardale
At Shardale, we do not refer to
people as ‘alcoholics’, nor do we
subscribe to the belief that dependent people have a disease known
as ‘alcoholism’. We feel that this view of labelling people as sick is not
only totally disempowering but also relieves that person of the full
responsibility for their behaviour – behaviour that we maintain is
always chosen. What we do believe is that many people behave in
irresponsible and misguided ways in attempts to meet their needs,
and that these can result in harm being done to all aspects of their
lives, their relationships, and to other people’s lives too.
Our goal at Shardale is to help people to choose to stop drinking, to
rebuild their lives and to begin to make much more healthy, more
constructive, need-satisfying choices. Essential to making these choices
is the quality re-connection with other people, so that they may begin
to lose the perception that alcohol is the solution to all problems.
SASS Priory Road
Priory Road residential rehab is a 6-bed
dry house in a leafy suburb of Sheffield.
SASS offers 6/12 month programmes,
which help residents work through the issues that led to their
problems with alcohol. Through our structured groupwork
programme and one to one sessions, based on Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy and solution focussed approaches, residents
develop the skills and strategies to move forward in recovery and
remain abstinent when they leave.
Included in the cost of a rehab placement is access to SASS Alcohol
Recovery Community and floating support service that ensures
residents develop a new healthy and rewarding non-drinking lifestyle.
Sefton Park
Rated as THREE STAR
EXCELLENT by CQC
The addiction treatment provided
at Sefton Park produces demonstrably good outcomes for our
clients, with 68 per cent completing the primary treatment stage
during 2009.
Within Sefton Park each individual receives treatment that is
personalised to their specific needs and documented in their
personal care plan. Within our safe and supportive setting,
individuals begin to explore the causes of their addictive behaviour.
Working within the group, and supported by our counsellors, each
individual can find the type of support they need to start their
personal recovery journey. Other group members are able to show
that the treatment is working for them, which, in turn, helps those
individuals joining the group to gain improved motivation to progress
with their treatment.
We work intensively with clients to create a stable platform of
abstinence that will give each individual the desire to build a new
way of life. We invite you to come and spend time with us and find
out more about what we do. Please call Lorraine or Del on 01934
626371/07534 080307.
