NewLink Wales
Training
– NewLink Wales is a voluntary sector
organisation providing substance misuse training
across Wales. We deliver a NOS mapped training
programme and design and deliver courses in-house
for organisations. As an approved centre with City & Guilds and
the Institute of Leadership and Management we can deliver
qualifications including the Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social
Care, NV
Q
Level 3, 5 and 7 in Management and the Award/Certificate
in Working with Substance Misuse. We also provide the
Award/Certificate in Employability and Personal Development,
aimed at service users and assessor and verifier qualifications.
Volunteering
– NewLink Wales recruits, trains and places volunteers
with registered agencies that work to support those affected by
substance misuse. We have a NewSteps service user volunteer
programme which works with clients still in treatment, through a
buddy system, and a MILE (Mentoring in Learning & Education)
programme for ex-service users who wish to volunteer.
The Black & Minority Ethnic Communities Service
empowers individ-
uals, families and groups who are in some way affected by substance
misuse, through education and support, in a sensitive and culturally
appropriate manner. It also provides services to young people.
