Tradition with a twist…
We’ve all seen couples getting married under water, on a
bungee jump or in full Star Wars outfits. That’s certainly
a way to have a very personal wedding but what if
you’re more of a traditionalist at heart? We all want our
weddings to be special and reflect us as a couple but
sometimes it’s hard to let your personalities come
through when you don’t want to say your vows upside
down or wearing a crazy costume!
There are still many wonderful ways in which you can
add a special personal feel to a traditional wedding day.
Using your creativity…
If you’ve got an arty side you may find that your
wedding is a perfect opportunity to let your creativity
out. When deciding on handmade wedding projects, the
top tip is to play to your strengths. Perhaps you’re a keen
knitter, a whiz on photoshop or draw hilarious cartoons.
There are many blogs and websites where you can get
crafty wedding ideas. Put your own twist on the projects
to really make them personal to you. A great way to do
this is to bring in the colour scheme from your wedding or
perhaps feature your initials and date of the big day.
Areas to consider for DIYwedding projects:
Handmade invitations.
Feature your drawings or
create a photomontage of you and your partner.
Table decorations.
Use hand-painted tea-light
holders, monogrammed napkins or fabric flowers.
Decorating the venue.
Bunting is always popular
and certainly creates a party atmosphere. You
could also consider tissue paper pompoms or paper
chains to bring life to your venue.
