So the venue’S booked, you’ve slaved over the
seatng plans and trawled the streets for the
perfect outit. I’d say you’ve earned yourself a
well-deserved pampering before the big day.
i know we’d all love to book ourselves into a top spa for a
luxury retreat, but unless you’ve a million in the bank it’s probably
not going to happen. so, get the ketle on and put your feet up
because i’ve got some kitchen cupboard skincare secrets to get
you looking gorgeous for the day of your dreams…
Firstly, preparaton is key. to get your skin gleaming, start
with a good dry body brush. there are reasonably priced bristle
brushes in most pharmacies that work wonders. start at your
feet and work upwards, brushing in circular motons towards
your heart. Do this dry; the fricton will shed the dead cells to
show the new healthy skin underneath. Brushing has a
nourishing, detoxing effect and makes it easier for oils to seep
into deeper layers for plump, radiant skin. it’s excellent for
those wobbly bits as it helps to breakdown cellulite too. Do this
five-minute treatment every couple of days and you’ll see an
amazing difference to your skin quality within a week.
so you’ve prepped your skin; now it needs feeding. Where
beter to head than the kitchen? you’d be amazed at the gems
you can find lurking in those cupboards... What you need
depends on your skin type.
For dry skin, warm two tablespoons of olive oil and honey
and add some sugar. Rub it gently over your skin as you would a
normal exfoliator. this is a really moisturising treatment full of
antoxidants, vitamin a and e. For more sensitve skin, put two
tablespoons of oats into the foot of an old pair of tghts and rub
over your skin in the bath. the water will create a so oatmilk
that soothes irritaton. if you’re really keen, add lavender
flowers too; it will balance, soothe redness and improve
suppleness. For skin that’s on the oily side, a tablespoon of
honey, lemon juice and ground almonds is best. Lemon
decreases sebum producton to ease oiliness while ground
