Brighton Pride promises to be bigger and beter than ever this
year. the march will take place on 1 september, startng at the
seafront and culminatng in a tcketed event in Preston Park.
there are tents for all kinds of singing, dancing and DJs –
check out the headline acts in the Wild Fruit Dance tent! –
alongside performance tents showcasing both natonally
known and new talent. Fancy some line dancing, or a bit of
clubbing in the a ernoon? A spin on the waltzers, or a spot of
cabaret? Brighton’s popular jamboree has it all.

Bristol’s Gay Pride week from 7-15 July culminates in the
colourful Pride Parade and
We Are: Proud
a massive free
outdoor music festval on 14 July. Martha Wash of the
Weathergirls will headline more than 40 acts booked for the
five performance areas. Highlights of this blossoming event
include a new enterprise Family Area, a place to network,
socialise and take part in the Alternatve Families Campaign.

For a fun full-on celebraton of diversity don’t miss the chance
to join 40,000 others for the Cardiff-Wales Lesbian and Gay
Mardi Gras. the festval is from 25-31 August, with the main

New york City has led the way in dynamic rallies since first
commemoratng the stonewall riots of 1969 – the beginning
of the modern gay rights movement.
this summer’s NyC Gay Pride in June was no excepton,
with motvatonal speeches from the LGBt community and
the world of entertainment. the pride march, first held in
1970, has become an annual civil rights demonstraton and,
more recently, a recogniton of the fight against AIDs and
remembrance of those who have lost their lives.
A er the march, Pride-Fest is always a vibrant celebraton of
gay lifestyle and community, with family actvites, stalls,
entertainers, community actvites – and of course plenty of
partying into the night to keep the memories alive untl next year.
