What a picture!
Letspose Studios explain how they brought James’ vision to life…
at our gay friendly photography studio it doesn’t matter what your sexual
orientation is. We don’t judge our customers for being who they want to be; we
just help them create images they love, in a relaxed fun atmosphere.
When we first met James, it was obvious that he had a strong creative
personality and wanted to collaborate on something a little different and we
were keen to be part of that journey with him.
When we showed James the wedding dress we had in the studio he jumped
at the chance to prove that a guy can look beautiful in one as well as a girl. our
in-house make-up artist gave James a bridal look and he was soon getting
zipped into the wedding dress to create the beautiful images.
Both as a business and personally, we support gay marriage and would
encourage anyone to come along to the studio for a fun filled photo shoot. as our
in-house photographer, Neil hartley, says: ‘I can honestly say that it was a pleasure
to work with James, creating the first of many gay wedding styled shoots with him.’

his photograph was an idea I’d had for a long time as I love weddings and the
beautiful dresses, so when the opportunity came up I jumped at it. I didn’t really
think at the time about how much attention the picture would receive. I was fully
aware that there was a lot going on in the world around the important issue of whether
gay marriage should become legal or not. But I was just happy to create a beautiful
image of myself as an androgynous male bride.
I hadn’t seen any other designers or male models at the time in a wedding dress, but
you see women made to look male, or wearing suits, so I thought this is something that
needs to be done and seen! I guess I also wanted to show that if a woman can look
beautiful in a stunning dress, then so can a guy.
there are men out there who would love to feel as special by going to a designer and
having a piece made, whether it be a dress, white lace trouser suit or couture wedding tails.
Like many women and men, I’ve thought of my own dream wedding for as long as I
can remember – the perfect first dance, the venue, and of course the outfit. My ideal
dress would be a delicate white lace that hugged the body, going all the way to the floor.
there would be white silk involved, with pearls and diamonds to accessorise. the
hairstyle I would favour would be a side-parted sleek style with a finger wave at the
front, very 1940s, and my wedding style would be Chanel meets My Fair Lady –
everything black and white, including all my guests’ outfits. Very classic and vintage, but
oh so over the top!
I would love to work with wedding dress designers more and get the chance to walk in
a top fashion show… well, that’s the dream.
gay marriage is such a hot topic at the moment that the world needs to come together
to support it. It doesn’t matter who we are, we all deserve the wedding of our dreams.
