THE DAVID MAYER NAMAN MAN
has a look that comes
from blending inspiration gathered from different
cultures and countries, with garments that mirror the
modern cosmopolitan man – someone who is not afraid
to push the boundaries.
This season we have drawn inspiration from three
moods: ‘Un Portrait d’Homme’ for the formal collection,
‘Fatal Attraction’ for the leisure wear, and ‘Total
Hypnotique’ for evening attire. You will find our classic
slim Italian tailoring in black, greys and blues, mixed with a
touch of Africa in the safari tones and prints creeping into the
collection. Bringing all this to life are the flashes of fluorescent
orange, candy pink and electric china blue, with shirts and t-
shirts recalling an atmosphere reminiscent of the ’60s and ’70s.
As always, contrast plays a big part in our collection,
finding iridescent fabrics side by side with raw linens and
cottons, formal suits with punk t-shirts or paisley shirts,
and allowing the customer to find his own identity
within the collection. I have picked three key looks for
this summer that are smart, sophisticated, yet cool and
colourful – perfect for an engagement party, a bright summer
wedding or a night out on your honeymoon.
LOOK 1
: Our classic slim cotton suit, in five colours. This season
electric royal blue leads the way. Sharp and playful, you can pair
the blazer with either the trouser or the bermuda for a
more summer feel. Accessorise with reds, oranges or
pinks to really bring this outfit to life, and for 2013,
choose a bow tie.
LOOK 2
: The perfect evening outfit – smart cotton
chinos with turn-ups, brogues, shirt, waistcoat and
bow tie. Candy pink is a big colour this season, and
combining this with navy blue (this year’s black!) can
really add contrast and panache to the look.
LOOK 3
: Linen is a great summer fabric, allowing you to
look sharp and letting you breathe. Our two-piece combo
comes in blue, grey or beige, andmixedwith cotton it
gives a slight sheen, and prevents creasing. With a flat
colour you can be as playful as you like, choosing your shirt
and accessories, sowhy not try fuchsia paisley and an
orange tie to push the boundaries a little?
