Summer is here at last and there’s so much to talk
about. By now you will have heard the news
about same-sex marriages and the potential for summer weddings in 2014, but I’ll talk
more about that when I write the final part of our journey in the autumn issue. Read the
second part of our story on page 44.
This edition is packed with Pride information – from London to New York and many
more in between. Once again a ‘must’ are our real life stories from amazing couples
like Damian and Thiago, who catered for their own wedding – and boy oh boy the food
didn’t stop! Then we have Jamie and Erin bringing their family and friends together for
a very intimate celebration in Mexico, against the backdrop of one of the most
beautiful beaches in the world.
We bring you the brightest and best trends for the summer, what’s hot for men’s
fashion and how best to combine that stylish look for women’s suits. Fonda’s back with
her powers of wisdom, Donna gives you a little taster to finding the right suppliers from
her vast knowledge of wedding planning, and Shirley shares her experiences in creating
memorable poems for your special day that are heartwarming and full of passion.
There’s even a little therapy, as Llinos tells you how to give your partner a massage to
forget the stresses of planning your special day.
As we hit half way through 2013, our year of celebrating ten years of helping same sex
couples, it’s hard to believe we’re still having to work so hard to fight for equality and
to break down the barriers to make everyone’s life equal – not just in the UK but
around the globe. My ten years have been great for
campaigning, but a lot of my work would never have
been possible without your support. While I continue
my ‘stepping stone’ campaigns, I hope I still have your
support for another ten years.
