It’s natural to feel a little harassed during
the months leading up to your wedding.
you’ve got a million and one things on your mind, as well as
the stressors of everyday life. stress can blindside you in a
number of different ways: a case of the pre-wedding blues,
weight loss and weight gain, feelings of being completely
overwhelmed – you might even find yourselves snapping at
each other for no reason.
it’s important to remember why you’re going through
with all of this in the first place – the person you want to
spend the rest of your life with. so take some me to
reconnect with each other, so that you can both enjoy the
big day when it finally comes around.
Massage offers a number of benefits to the body – not
only does it promote a sense of relaxa on and wellbeing, it
can even aid the healing process. it can also help you feel
closer as a couple. Here’s my simple guide to a comfor ng
massage that will give you both a quick pick-me-up, and
rekindle that romance!
a er the massage has finished, wrap your partner in a
warm blanket to ensure that their body temperature stays
at a pleasant level. Make sure that they drink plenty of
water to keep hydrated, and leave them alone for a few
minutes to really let them unwind.
Why not make a real night of it by using scented
candles and so music to create a tranquil, soothing
environment. My recommenda ons would be Kew
Gardens Wild Fig scented Candle (£15.99 from amazon)
and pure Massage Music (£7.99 from itunes).
By the end of the massage, your partner will be feeling
like a real weight has been li ed from their shoulders. Just
make sure that they return the favour!
Don’t get tied up with tension before your big day!

Beauty tips
STEP-BY-STEP
1. Find a place in your home that is warm, relaxing
and has enough space to lie down comfortably.
2. Ask your partner to lie in a prone position –
that’s on their front, with their back facing up
towards the ceiling.
3. Begin your massage by warming some oil in your
hands – cold oil won’t be nearly as comforting! –
and applying a thin layer over your partner’s back.
4. Starting in the mid-back area, place your hand
on each side of the spine and using firm
pressure, glide upwards towards the shoulders.
5. Once at the neck, push outwards over the neck
and shoulders, then pull your hands down over
the back towards the base of the spine.
6. Repeat these movements three or four times
until the area has warmed.
7. Bring your hands to the shoulder blades and
use your knuckles to gently knead around the
outside of the shoulder blades.
8. Work up towards the shoulders and use your
knuckles to knead the neck and shoulders.
9. Smooth the palms of your hands over the neck
and tops of the shoulders. Remember to use
plenty of pressure.
10. Repeat steps four to six three times.
11. Bring your hands down to the lower left back
and move your hands in small circular
movements. You can use a lot of pressure here
if the area holds tension.
12. Repeat these movements on the right side.
Take care while nearing the spine – no pressure
should be put on the spine at all.
13. Repeat steps four to six three more times.
14. Once you finish steps one to 13, repeat the whole
sequence three times to complete the massage.
