hat are you going to wear on your special
day? Well the good news is there are no rules
for gay weddings! So, you can both wear
whatever you like and have whatever kind of
wedding you’re dreaming about.
Threads of Pride have created some beautiful suits to
capture your imagination, and whatever your height and
frame, there are some ideas to make you both the belles of
the ball. Here are some ideas to think about:
MATCHING SUITS
– you might want to both wear the same
style suit in the same or similar colour, or perhaps choose
waistcoats in different colours which reveal something
about your personalities. (Threads-257)
CONTRASTING SUITS
– you could choose the same style, but
in different colours, with both waistcoats in ivory, if you
want a bit of tradition. Or be flamboyant, matching your
waistcoat with the colour of your partner’s suit. (Threads-
326 & 308)
Or, the contrast could be in the style rather than the
colour. This can work particularly well if you have very
different body shapes; does one of you prefer to wear a
jacket that covers your bottom, while the other prefers to
wear a shorter style? If you prefer your bottom covered,
think about a suit or your trousers being a darker colour or
shade than your jacket. A shorter length jacket can be
more flattering for shorter women. Either of these
