you plenty of scope to express your personalities.
You might have very different tastes and choose a
limited palate of colours. Three different colours work well
together, as they offer lots of possibilities – if you’re more
reserved go for softer, natural shades, or be more
outrageous with bold and flamboyant tones. For example,
you could wear a jacket and trousers in different colours,
with your partner in a suit to match your jacket. Her
waistcoat could match your trousers, with your waistcoat
as the third colour, which will be picked up in other
details, such as bunting, cufflinks, flowers and napkins.

Now some more about colour and the time of year
you’re planning for your big day. If you’re having it in June
in a field, you’re probably thinking of a different range of
colours from December in a castle! Your starting point
could be the colour of your favourite item of clothing.
Light, natural and subtle colours, such as lilac, pale green,
soft pink and ivory are often associated with spring, while
brighter, more vibrant colours like kingfisher, lime green,
deep strawberry pink and vanilla might be more for high
summer. Rich autumnal tones might include ochre, rusts
and rich deep cream; while for winter, red or burgundy,
deep green and ivory might come to mind.
If you find it hard to decide about colours, think about
what you associate with that time of year – perhaps
deckchairs and ice-cream in the summer, oranges and
leaves for the autumn, holly and snowdrops in the winter,
and primroses and tulips in the spring. Take your
inspiration from the seasons and have fun exploring the
looks and shapes that suit you best.
