I wanted the day to be full of surprises for Joe, and both
being car fans I was determined to find the perfect mode of
transfer for us between the venues. In the end I booked a
beau ful two-tone Rolls Royce Phantom, and it turned out to
be such a lovely treat and a touch of glamour.
We’d been remembering how we had spent a Christmas
at the Dean Street Townhouse the year before and loved
everything about it. So we hired the private dining room –
the perfect venue to seat the 13 of us for an early dinner –
before we headed off for drinks and canapés for 65 guests
on the top floor of the stylish Élysées restaurant just down
from my salon, Charles Worthington on Percy Street.
An event for Gaydar radio gave us the inspira on for our
music. We’d gone along one evening and the star ng act was
a friend I’d met though work. I had no idea how amazingly
she sang. At the end of the first song Joe leant across the
table and said, ‘imagine if she was singing at our wedding’.
And so it came to be that the lovely Rhiannon Mair
preformed for us that evening and added such a perfect
memory to the night.

It must have taken me about four months to put the whole day
together and I don't think we could have done anything more
to make it a happier day. One of the best moments for me was
seeing the smile on Joe’s face and knowing he was happy.
